Fundacion Amigos de Guarderias Infantiles is a private and non profit organization providing the poor children with day care and primary education. It provides a place where the children receive care, education and meals while the parent(s) is (are) at their work place. There are two locations, one in San Pedro Sula with a capacity of 600 children and the other one in Choloma with a capacity of 800 children. A third location is under construction also in Choloma. Fundacion Amigos de Guarderias Infantiles will only accept children from poor and needy families.
Each facility provides classrooms, nursery, clinic, rest rooms, dinning room, auditorium, warehouse, administrative offices, parking lot and ample playground. A staff of 40 employees is present at each school. Fundacion Amigos de Guarderias Infantiles not only provides an outstanding education, it also is one of the few institutions teaching proper behavior.
The regular income from the small monthly fee per child, the yearly Folklore Festival, auditorium rental and concerts is not enough to cover the maintenance cost of $110.00 per child. The school depends very much on private donations.
